It's What I Do

You seriously want to look at this stuff??

Currently I am residing in New England and training to be a surgeon. I graduated from a University of Texas Medical School in 2005 with an M.D. and Texas A&M University in 2000 with a B.S. in Psychology. Originally I was born in Dubuque, Iowa; moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota; and spent my formative years in Dallas, Texas. If I'm playing a sport, it most probably is golf. I love the Dallas Stars, Cowboys, Mavericks, and Texas Rangers. Now you know my life.

Well it's September. The fall is creeping in. In Texas, I used to love when fall starting creeping in. I will forever associate this with high school marching band (or football in general). The first few Friday night lights were usually pretty hot, but then cool air would hit and change everything. You could smell the fall in the air. Does that make sense? I can smell it here too in New England. Unfortunately, that only means one thing...all of the leaves are going to fall off then the 8 months of winter will follow. Ugh. The weather here is too good in the spring and summer to care about the nice fall weather. In Texas, the fall means reprieve from scorching 100 degree days. In Texas the fall means something great. Here it just means the days are short, the leaves are changing, and the damn winter is coming.

How about this Sarah Palin?? Isn't that the coolest thing or what. She's a life member of the NRA, 2nd place in Miss Alaska pageant, captain of high school sports, etc etc. The day after this thing was announced a few weeks ago I looked her up on google. There were approximately 450,000 web sites that included her name. When I typed her in today, I find around 16 million. How about that.

I get to visit home soon. I don't recall the last time I was in Dallas actually. I think it was a year ago. I look forward to seeing some drag racing, playing the Dallas Athletic Club, and eating Mexican food. I might even get to see some of the old high school/college buddies if I'm lucky.

I really enjoy blogging. Every time I do this, I'm sort of pleased that I get to review things going on in my life. There are highs and lows obviously. I feel bad for my step brother-in-law WINE who lost his father a short while ago. However, he and his wife Ashley are pregnant, which is wonderful. Same thing with some of my patients. We've made some wonderful saves over the last few months, but with that comes the agony of losing a patient too. Sometimes the body just can go on. Sometimes it's tough to accept that.

Anywho, that's all for now. Go Cowboys! (and Aggies, who might struggle winning 6 games this season).
