I had a bachelor party over the weekend in sunny Washington D.C. What a fantastic time we had indeed. Thanks to all of my buddies for traveling across the country to spend the weekend with me. It was nice for pretty much the entire gang to get back together for the weekend. Special thanks to Cory for sort of getting the ball rolling, Adam for putting the whole thing together and graciously giving his time and bar for the occasion, and to Adam's girlfriend Melissa for hooking us up with great rates at the Hotel Palomar in beautiful DuPont Circle. I took out a thyroid today. Usually it's a red organ in the shape of a bow tie in the neck. This one was blue. It turns out that if a person takes certain medications, sometimes the thyroid turns blue. This patient was taking minocycline which is an antibiotic. It turned his thyroid blue. So here it is. The picture doesn't do it justice, but notice how it's mostly red with specks of blue everywhere. Kewl!
